Following a recent trip to Portugal to source Nurses for roles in Ireland, the UK and The Channel Islands, Cpl Healthcare have been made acutely aware of the many talented Nurses in Portugal seeking work in other European countries. Like many other European countries the Portuguese economy has suffered badly with Healthcare being one of the areas badly affected by the downturn. It has resulted in recruitment and pay freezes in this sector leaving many Nurses either out of work or working excessive hours for low rates of pay. Does this sound like you?
Ireland and the UK have had their fair share of problems during the downturn however they remain two countries that can offer endless opportunities to experienced Nurses. In the public sector Ireland has suffered similarly to Portugal, however the private Nursing Home market is thriving, with Nursing Homes Ireland this year quoting that they had over 1,400 vacancies nationwide for Nurses interested in a career in Gerontology Nursing. Likewise there are shortages in the UK for experienced Nurses in areas such as Cardiology, Paediatrics and Neonatal, Theatre, Critical Care, Gynaecology, Oncology and Palliative Care. Ireland and the UK offer very good rates of pay to experienced Nurses and also encourage career development through continuous education and training.
If you have experience in any of the above areas and are interested in a career in Ireland, the UK or The Channel Islands then we can help you. After the success of our recent trip to Porto we are now coming to Lisbon on the 6th of September 2011 to inform and interview Nurses for job opportunities in Ireland and the UK. We will be there to advise you on how to register with the Irish or UK Nursing Board, assess your English skills and guide you to a new future in Nursing in another European Country.

Like many of you, I am sure you are dismayed at the poor state of the global economy and mass job shortages. As a nurse I have always felt that my qualifiaction is as valuable as my passport as our skills open us to a world of employment opportunities. Never has this been more evident than in recent months with a massive shortage of specialist aged care, cardiology, surgical and mental health nurses in Ireland, the UK and the Channel Islands.
While our skills are in high demand, we as a profession are not without our challenges and have been forced to look further afield than our own countries for work. It is a daunting prospect but one we should not be fearful of. Having recently relocated to London from the comfort of my home town in Dublin I can appreciate people being reluctant to move. While you would be leaving the comfort of home you would also be embarking on a new career with massive opportunities and opening yourself up to new experiences. At Cpl Healthcare we specialise in nurse recruitment and can provide advice and support about relocating and pointing you in the right direction.
