Our Occupational Health Services

Pre-employment medical assessments (PEMs) are conducted to screen candidates for any medical conditions that could impact their job performance. If any conditions are identified, appropriate controls are recommended to ensure candidates can safely perform their specific job tasks. These assessments are overseen by our accredited Specialists in Occupational Medicine.

Taking a proactive approach to sickness absence, with a focus on early intervention, benefits both employees and management. Through ongoing medical assessments, we can:

  • Assess long-term absentee cases
  • Address repeated short-term absenteeism
  • Intervene early
  • Facilitate early return to work with effective rehabilitation and retention strategies. This not only promotes a timely and healthy return to work but also enables employees with health issues to remain productive for longer periods

Failing to manage sickness absence leads to:

  • Increased absenteeism
  • Decreased productivity and performance
  • Financial losses (due to staff replacement and training)
  • Reduced morale (due to increased workload for colleagues)

Our goal is to safeguard the ongoing health and well-being of employees exposed to occupational hazards inherent in their work. This is achieved through individualised attention or as part of a comprehensive Health Surveillance (HS) program.

Once hazards are identified, we implement a Health Surveillance program to ensure employees' continued safety and well-being. This includes:

  • Incorporating employee education and training to raise awareness about hazards and their health implications

  • Providing training on various work-related topics, such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Utilising risk assessments to determine the necessity for Health Surveillance. It's essential to note that risk assessments should not replace the need for conducting Health Surveillance

Our team provides clients with advice and relevant health education about occupational hazards related to employees' roles, including appropriate workplace immunisations.

We offer both on-site and off-site immunisation services tailored to specific requirements. With expertise in managing staff immunisation programs, we have extensive experience in launching new programs and conducting mass immunisation initiatives. Even during vaccine shortages, we have successfully procured vaccines and possess the necessary medical and non-medical staffing resources to execute such projects effectively.

Implementing a health screening program offers employers valuable insights into the overall health of their employee population. These screenings serve as a proactive measure to detect the early onset of diseases before symptoms arise. Our detailed analysis enables you to develop tailored workplace well-being programs for your employees.

Our comprehensive Health Screening tests include:

  • Health & Lifestyle Questionnaires
  • Bone Profile
  • Blood Pressure
  • Urinalysis
  • BMI & Waist Circumference
  • Atrial Fibrillation Screening
  • Cholesterol & Triglycerides
  • Vision Test (for VDU)
  • Glucose or Glycated Haemoglobin
  • Resting ECG
  • Full Blood Count
  • Bone Density
  • Renal Profile
  • Uric Acid
  • Liver Function Tests
  • Lung Function Spirometry
  • Thyroid Function Tests

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 71% of global deaths in 2018 were attributed to non-communicable diseases, including cardiovascular diseases (44%), cancers (22%), chronic respiratory diseases (9%), and diabetes (3.9%). These diseases share common behavioral risk factors: tobacco use, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, and harmful alcohol consumption. Detection, screening, and treatment of non-communicable diseases are crucial components of addressing this health challenge.

Consider these four key lifestyle factors when assessing your health screening report and planning appropriate initiatives. At Cpl Healthcare, we customise employee well-being campaigns to address your needs, including:

  • Get Active – Stay Active
  • Mental Health Awareness
  • Nutrition
  • Mindfulness
  • Gender-Specific Cancer Awareness

  • Heart Attack and Stroke Awareness
  • Sleep Management
  • Work/Life Balance
