Medical Scientist – Microbiology – Dublin

Full Time // North DublinSalary: €33264 - €67985

Description:

Medical Scientists required for permanent positions to be based in Microbiology in a hospital, North Dublin. We are looking for senior and basic grade candidates.

The Candidate:

  • Relevant qualification in Medical Science (recognised by ACSLM)
  • Experience working in Microbiology

For senior grade:

  • Be a Fellowship member of, or be eligible for Fellowship membership of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (A.C.S.L.M.) or prior to 1994- Associate Membership of the A.C.S L.M.
  • Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Medical Microbiology laboratory, since qualifying as a Medical Scientist.

  • Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability), for the proper discharge of duties of the post.
  • Candidates must have a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative.
  • Be personally motivated with the ability to empower and motivate others.
  • Be able to demonstrate a patient focused approach.
  • Be computer literate.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and proven written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Possess a good knowledge of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Have proven organisational skills.
  • Have the ability to work on own initiative, prioritise and manage a number of issues simultaneously and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Be able to identify potential difficulties and formulate solutions.
