Cpl Healthcare are currently seeking a Person in Charge for a well-established, reputable service based in North Cork/South Limerick, which provides several supports to both children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
We are seeking an experienced social care professional to join the residential services, to effectively manage the day-to day running of two houses supporting, adult service users, leading a team of social care staff and healthcare support.
Requirements:
- Must hold a social care qualification and an additional Healthcare Management Qualification
- 5 years’ experience in social care with 3 at leadership level working in ID sector
- Full, clean license
- A proven track record of managing a residential service which meets quality, regulatory/legislative requirements
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensure that residents receive the highest standard of holistic care
- Ensure the service is fully compliant with National Quality Standards and HIQA
- Manage the development and implementation of person-centred programmes that reflect the individual aspirations and needs of each service user.
- Embrace and promote advocacy in the delivery of person centred care
- Establish and maintain relationships with individuals that are based on respect and equality and that promotes their independence
- Be responsible for the management and supervision of staff of all grades, ensuring professional and work practices consistently meets the required standard and that development and training needs of your staff are met
- Ensure all new staff within designated areas of responsibility receive adequate induction
- programme, have a clear understanding of their duties, responsibilities and the standards of performance expected of them at all times.
- To show leadership, enthusiasm, professionalism and flexibility both in the approach to and execution of duties
- To exhibit flexibility by taking on additional duties, from time to time, as requested by management e.g. in-service committees, projects, policy development, reviews
- Ensure the efficient and effective allocation and coordination of resources to achieve tasks
- within areas of responsibility
- Conducts Performance Management Reviews for staff within areas of responsibility
- participate in the performance management programme
- Intervenes decisively where standards of behaviour, performance or attitude contravene
- service policy and procedure and informs appropriate personnel.
- Monitor and work to improve the team processes, encourages team review and reflection
- Ensure that all personnel are familiar with emergency and other operational procedures and
- regulations.
- Ensure scheduling of rosters is completed out in a timely and fair manner which reflects
- service needs
- Within areas of responsibility plan short, medium and long term goals to achieve desired
- outcomes for residents and staff.
- Work with the Line Manager in developing strategies for staff retention.
- Participate as required on the recruitment of staff for areas of responsibility.
- Ensure the efficient and effective use of resources allocated to designated areas
- Ensure staff evaluate supplies and equipment purchased.
- Plan and track budget variances in areas of responsibility
- Assures that service users monies are accounted for in accordance with service policy
