Prison Nurse – Dublin

Prison Locations:

We are currently seeking experienced nurses for permanent posts in various prisons throughout the Irish Prison Service Estate. There are current vacancies in Cloverhill Prison and Wheatfield Prison (Dublin 22) and Mountjoy Prison (Dublin 7)

  • Emergency
  • Trauma
  • Mental Health
  • Addictions
  • Acute Medicine
  • Acute Surgery

  • Health Needs Assessment
  • Risk Assessment
  • Care Planning
  • Emergency Response – CPR & First Aid
  • Wound Management
  • Drug Treatment
  • Primary Care
  • Mental Health Experience

Job Requirements:

  • NMBI registration or nearing completion of the registration process (RGN/RPN/Dual Qualified)
  • Right to work in Ireland
  • Proficient in English
  • To be caring and compassionate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • To be flexible in approach
  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
  • Patient advocacy skills
  • IT skills

Job Offer

  • Permanent fulltime contract
  • Prison Nurse salary scale: €39,931 – €42,623 – €44,696 – €46,699 – €48,695 – €50,652 NMAX – €52,646 LSI 1
  • 39 hours per week on a rostered basis
  • 22-24 days annual leave depending on years in service
