Social Worker, Children in Care team, Waterford

Cpl Healthcare in partnership with the Child and family agency are urgently recruiting for a Social Worker to work in a locum role as an integral part of the children in care team, in Waterford

As a Social worker you will be responsible for:
Case management
Ensuring the child/young person is in an appropriate care placement through engagement with the young person and their care provider.
Reviewing care placement to ensure it is appropriate and meets the young persons needs
Advocating on behalf of the child/young person in care and ensuring rights and decisions about the childs/young persons care are made in their best interests.
Ensure that the young persons views are heard when decisions are being made about them being in care

The Candidate:
A recognised qualification as a Social Worker
Registration with CORU or eligable for registration with CORU new graduates (2021)
Some experience working with children and families, fostering and/or children in care. University placement experience will be considered
Good knowledge of legislation within children and families services
Permission to work in Ireland
Professional approach to work
Flexibility in work practice
Access to a car and full drivers licence is desirable
