Specialized Social Care Worker

Description:

My client is currently seeking an experienced social care worker to join their small team, in supporting young individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism within a residential setting. This is a full time, permanent post based in South Dublin.

This post offers a set shift over four days, which gives a great work/life balance.
The role involves working directly with one young person living with Prader Willi. The right candidate will have experience in this area and be able to offer a high level of care, support and direction to the young person, helping them with their specific needs to ensure their best development.


Requirements for Role:

  • Recognised qualification on Social Care/ Applied Social Studies- Social Care (Min. level 7 on National Framework of Qualifications)
  • Minimum two years experience working in the intellectual disability sector
  • Experience caring for individuals with Prader Willi
  • Experience working with young people with behaviours that challenge
  • Strong working knowledge on Childrens First, Child Protection, HIQA and all other relevant legislations
  • Excellent communication skills and well adapt at planning and organising
  • Proficient in report writing, ensuring all files are kept fully up to date
  • Trained in MAPA, Manual Handling, First Aid and SAM
  • Full, clean drivers license is essential
