Support Pharmacist – Shankill

Cpl Healthcare are currently accepting applications on behalf of our client for an experienced Support Pharmacist to work as part of a busy pharmacy team in Shankill, Co. Dublin.

This exciting opportunity will be offered on a full-time, permanent contract and successful applicants are expected to work a total of 40 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will work alongside an experienced Dispensary and Support staff and must have excellent attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.

Pharmacy Opening Hours

Monday - 9am – 7pm

Tuesday - 9am – 7pm

Wednesday - 9am – 7pm

Thursday - 9am – 7pm

Friday - 9am – 7pm

Saturday - 9am – 6pm

Sunday - 11am – 1pm

Core Responsibilities

  • Counsel patients on safe and rational use of their medicines
  • Conduct regular medicine usage reviews with patients to optimize their therapeutic regimen and minimize risk for potential adverse drug reactions
  • Assist in processing month end claim, verifying all schemes; DPS, LTI, HT, EM, GMS, hardship and psych and ensuring all coded and non-coded items are claimed for correctly and efficiently to meet the PCRS deadline
  • Ordering stock from correct suppliers and maintains workable stock levels; anticipating needed medications & supplies; removing outdated drugs
  • Advising customers on medication and OTC products in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Assisting patients wishing to avail the pharmacies health services, such as 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, and Diabetes risk assessment
  • Liaising with doctors and other healthcare professionals in regard to medication compliance and accuracy
  • Assist in organisation of medication into blister packs for patients who cannot manage to ensure their safe and effective use
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Administration of Flu vaccine

Specific Requirements

  • Strong patient focus
  • 40 Hours per week
  • Knowledge of MPS an advantage but not essential
  • Registration with the PSI
  • The position would ideally suit a person with more than 3 years’ experience, who does not want the supervising role or a newly qualified pharmacist
