Team Leader – Acute Mental Health Ward (Band 6) Crevichon Ward (Oberlands Centre)

Grade: Band 6 £43,954 - £52,932 BAR £54,643 - £59,343 per annum 

Full Time

The Team Leader(s) will support the Ward Manager in providing senior leadership to the Ward team. The post holder will deputise for the Ward Manager as required and take a lead role in service management and delivery acting as a role model in establishing standards for professional practice within the Ward team.

Crevichon Ward is an in-patient facility, for the Adult Mental Health Services in Guernsey.

Requirements:

Essential:

• Registered Mental Health Nurse with NMC membership.
• Evidence of CPD at Diploma Level
• Portfolio evidence to meet agreed competence criteria at Band 6 level.
• Experience of teaching/supervisory skills and experience.
• Evidence of working with a wide range of professionals, and the ability to work autonomously and independently.
• Evidence of effective communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to form positive working relationships with service users/carers and colleagues.
• Evidence of enthusiasm/motivation for this role and use of initiative to make a positive contribution to improving the quality-of-service delivery.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, offering 24 hours service delivery.
• Be able to demonstrate good time keeping and time management skills.
• Demonstrate a caring and empathic approach to individuals treating service users with dignity and respect.
• Demonstrate the importance of accurate record keeping.
• Demonstrate a good level of IT skills.
• Be committed to continuous development of job-related knowledge and skills, including those which are considered essential.
• Qualification or evidence of learning in CBT/Brief Solution Focussed Therapy/other Psychosocial intervention and experience in other mental health specialist areas.
• Desirable (to be achieved by second gateway or an agreed timeframe) Teaching/Mentoring qualification.
• Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent (D32/33, NVQ A1).
• Diploma in a related field.
• Car driver – with current valid licence
