The States of Guernsey are looking for a Senior Clinical Physiologist (Respiratory and Sleep Services) to join the team at Hospital Services. The Postholder will be required to work within a highly specialised clinical area, where clinical work will require detailed reporting and referral to an appropriate specialist clinic when necessary. The duties and responsibilities of the post holder require service delivery in a wide range of clinical environments as well as to a diversity of patient presentations. Physiologists will be required to practice in a team and work autonomously.

Selection Criteria: 

Essential

•       BSc in clinical Physiology or equivalent

•       Appropriate post graduate qualification in diagnostic respiratory testing and interpretation e.g. ARTP Part 1 and Part 2.

•       Appropriate qualification in sleep, e.g. ARTP CPAP accreditation and ARTP overnight and polygraphy practitioner certificate

·      Immediate Life Support Course (ILS).

·      Computer literate.

·      Basic understanding of clinical governance

·      Able to work unsupervised within and adapting protocols.

·      Post graduate work experience.

·      Relevant experience at specialist level.

·      Proven ability/experience of working with patients with respiratory disease and sleep disorders.

·      Ability to undertake comprehensive holistic assessments & manage complex symptoms.

·      Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-professional team.

·      Advanced communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex clinical information.

·      Good organisational skills

·      Ability to provide effective leadership to meet the needs of the post in full.

·      Ability to influence and manage change, including the promotion of evidence-based practice.

·      Experience in undertaking audit activity and its implication for the healthcare setting.

·      Teaching/assessment & presentation skills.

·      Provide evidence of continuous personal and professional development.

 

Desirable:

·      RCCP/AHCS/HCPC Registered.

·      Evidence of continued post graduate learning both clinically and managerially.

·      Understanding of COSHH, Manual Handling

·      Evidence of audit and R & D

·      A strategic approach to problem solving.
