New MAPA Training (formerly NVCI -non violent crisis intervention)

A cornerstone training programme of the Crisis Prevention Institute, the Management of Actual or Potential Aggression Programme has been designed to enhance participants’ understanding and management of disruptive, aggressive and/or violent behaviour.

The course’s aim is to ensure the Care, Welfare, Safety and Security of all involved during crisis situations.

By the end of the course, participants will have explored and developed a range of psychological and physiological responses to behaviour that will enable them to minimise the potential harm caused during crisis situations.

In addition the course includes practical sessions on breakaway techniques for a selection of common physical assaults.
