Assistant Director of Nursing, Critical Care

Description:

Experienced Registered General Nurse required for Assistant Director of Nursing (Theatre and Critical Care) role in Dublin hospital. As Assistant Director of Nursing for both the Theatre and Critical Care Units, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the hospital strategy; investing in quality staff, managing costs responsibly and investing in business development. The successful candidate will provide leadership and support to the nursing teams, creating a climate where individuals are empowered to be effective in their own roles. A key element to this role will involve maintaining collaborative working relationships across all departments to ensure the delivery of quality patient care.

To be considered for the role, the following selection criteria apply:

  • Registered general nurse on the live register with Nursing and Midwifery Board Ireland (NMBI).
  • Minimum 6 years post qualification experience in an acute Hospital setting
  • Minimum 3 years management experience in a Hospital setting, in Theatre or Critical Care
  • Management qualification desirable.
  • Strong values and commitment to patient safety and quality. 
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
